Fit-for-Purpose Chemical Stabilisation, Engineered for Clay-Rich Soils
RoadStabiliZOR™ is a clay compaction agent engineered to enhance the structural performance of clay-rich soils. Unlike polymers or enzyme-based treatments, RoadStabiliZOR™ modifies interparticle forces in clay to facilitate higher levels of compaction. When applied at Optimal Moisture Content (OMC), field results have demonstrated compaction densities exceeding 98% Mod AASHTO, supporting its suitability for demanding construction applications.
SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS : SPECIFIC NEEDS
Fit-for-purpose statement
RoadStabiliZOR™ is a purpose-built clay road stabilizer designed for clay-rich soils within the right Plasticity Index and Grading Envelope. While it is not a one-size-fits-all solution for every clay type, where soil conditions meet the required parameters, RoadStabiliZOR™ delivers outstanding compaction, moisture resistance, and long-term durability. It works with the natural properties of the soil to create fit-for-purpose, cost-effective roads — without the need for soil replacement.

Implementation methods
UNPAVED GRAVEL ROADS CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS

RoadStabiliZOR Roadworks Standards
Based on the TRH24 Upgrading of Unpaved Roads Standards, the RoadStabiliZOR Unpaved Roadworks Standards provides the implementation methodology, best practices, lessons learned, and practical implementation process.
NME
Nano Modified Emulsions are multi-component chemical solutions designed to enhance soil strength, density, and moisture resistance.
TRH24
TRH24 is a South African guideline for upgrading unpaved roads, focusing on low-cost, in situ materials and construction methods.
COTO
Committee of Transport Officials road construction standard details specifications for materials, testing, and methods to ensure national compliance.
FHWA
Federal Highway Administration agency oversees national highway policies, and infrastructure standards for road development (ASTM D1557).
SIMPLICITY IN IMPLEMENTATION
Clay Stabilisation Process using RoadStabiliZOR™

GRADING
Subbase preparation by ripping and blading the in situ soil to a desired grading envelope ensures mixing preparedness, obstruction filtering, load distribution, and stability.

BLENDING
Blending and mixing diluted chemical maximises distribution. Repeated windrow blading binds well-graded clay and aggregate with consistent treatment across the roadbed.

COMPACTING
Vibrating and pneumatic rollers achieve maximum density and Mod AASHTO by compacting the treated soil layers, locking particles into place and eliminating air voids.

BEFORE
Fractious and expandible clay, unstable and subject to shrink and swells due to their <0.0002mm particle size and high surface areas, which makes them chemically active.

DURING
No quarry-supplied stock piles, excavators or hauling trucks removing or supplying cement, lime, or G5 aggregate. Only graders, bowsers, compactors and in situ windrows.

AFTER
Stable, impermeable, compacted yet flexible clay with a high tensile strength. The results are irrefutable between chemically stabilised and unstabilised clay.
